Steampunk is seeking a Data Visualization Engineer to build executive dashboards for a large federal advisory program, translating wireframed designs and client data into production-ready, accessible visualizations that help leadership make faster, better-informed decisions.

• Build the integrated CX/executive dashboard and program-management dashboards from wireframes validated with leadership audiences
• Design and deliver dashboard solutions with attention to functionality, data security, system integration, and performance
• Ensure dashboards meet Section 508/WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards and stated accuracy/satisfaction targets
• Build dashboards from authoritative, government-approved data repositories rather than manually assembled data
• Apply open data format/export standards where dashboards surface data intended for client reuse

• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance
• Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of total experience
• 4+ years of data visualization or BI development experience
• Demonstrated experience building accessible (Section 508/WCAG 2.1) dashboards
• Experience with executive-level reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent)
• Working knowledge of data management disciplines, including data modeling, data integration, data security, and data quality, sufficient to build dashboards from authoritative source systems
• Ability to participate in stakeholder sessions to translate analytic and reporting requirements into dashboard specifications
• Experience working within an Agile software development lifecycle
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical/data concepts for audiences of varying technical levels

Preferred:

• Federal or regulated-industry dashboard development experience
• Experience building dashboards from authoritative/reconciled multi-source data

Steampunk relies on several factors to determine salary, including but not limited to geographic location, contractual requirements, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience. The projected compensation range for this position is $110,000 to $160,000.  The estimate displayed represents a typical annual salary range for this position.
