As a Marketing and Communications Specialist, you will work within our Design Intelligence® framework, partnering with a disruption designer and instructional designer to build trust and drive adoption of new AI and data capabilities for our government client. You will be responsible for developing and delivering strategic communications, multimedia outreach materials, and executive briefings that translate complex AI and data investments into content the workforce understands, trusts, and adopts. 

Responsibilities include: 

• Partner with the disruption designer and instructional designer to translate user research, journey maps, and training content into audience-ready messaging and adoption campaigns 
• Plan, produce, and distribute tailored strategic communications, multimedia outreach materials, and executive briefings that build stakeholder trust and mitigate user resistance to new AI capabilities 
• Develop and maintain capability roadmap communications that explain new AI resources and mission application releases to operational and technical audiences 
• Support stakeholder mapping, journey mapping, and workforce persona development to identify audiences, adoption barriers, and messaging opportunities 
• Craft executive-ready briefing materials, talking points, and presentations for leadership audiences across government clients and mission domain stakeholders 
• Participate in co-creation workshops, sprint reviews, and other Agile feedback ceremonies to gather input and refine messaging each Program Increment 
• Track and report on communications reach and adoption metrics that feed into leadership dashboards 
• Ensure all communications and multimedia materials meet Section 508 / WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards and maintain a consistent voice across products and services 
• Collaborate closely with program management, change management, and technical delivery teams to keep messaging aligned with release milestones 

• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government Security Clearance 
• Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of total experience 
• 4+ years of experience in marketing, communications, strategic communications, or organizational change management
• Local to the Washington, DC metro area and willing to travel on-site to client as needed 
• Demonstrated experience developing strategic communications, executive briefings, and multimedia outreach materials for technical or enterprise transformation initiatives 
• Excellent writing, editing, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to translate technical AI and data concepts into clear, audience-appropriate messaging and effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse stakeholders
• Experience with stakeholder mapping, journey mapping, and/or persona development methods 
• Experience working within an Agile delivery framework, including sprint reviews, Program Increment planning, and backlog ceremonies 
• Knowledge of and experience with Section 508 / accessibility requirements for communications and multimedia materials 
• Proficiency in tools like PowerPoint and Mural (or similar collaborative whiteboarding tools) 
• Experience collaborating within a multi-disciplinary delivery team including designers, instructional designers, engineers, data scientists, and change managers 
• Experience working in a project-based, client-facing environment 

Bonus Points 

• Previous work experience in or with the federal government, ideally DoD/DHS 
• Experience supporting AI, data, or emerging technology adoption campaigns 
• Experience producing content for developer- or technical-audience platforms 
• Previous experience working in a consulting environment

Steampunk relies on several factors to determine salary, including but not limited to geographic location, contractual requirements, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience. The projected compensation range for this position is $100,000 to $120,000.  The estimate displayed represents a typical annual salary range for this position.
