Overview

As a DevSecOps Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for developing Steampunk's DevSecOps pipeline for internal production products.  In addition, you will be responsible for developing our next generation PunkU platform, used widely across Steampunk for education and best practice dissemination.
 
We are looking for an established experience with cloud platform services (i.e. AWS, Azure), DevOps practices such as build/release management, secure SDLC/DevSecOps practices such as automating security processes in CI/CD pipeline, and general automation. In addition, you will need to have a strong programming and engineering background with the ability to lead projects build in PHP, Python, and C#.
 
You will help to design, implement, and support cloud solutions and processes leveraged by large number of applications hosted in our environments.
  • Develop a DevSecOps pipline used across Steampunk for deploying internal production software with a strong focus on Artificial Intelligencee.
  • Lead the development of our next generation PunkU platform to incorporate a more fluid and mobile-first experience.
  • Enhance our PunkU analytics capability to provide more in-depth reporting and dashboards to provide visibility and usage to end-customers and stakeholders.
  • Develop software and automation for enhancing internal Steampunk and IT processes.

Responsibilities

 

  • Local to DC Metro Area (1 day/week in McLean Office)
  • BS Degree in an IT field OR BS in a non-IT field and 2 years related IT experience 
  • 5 Years of Experience with one or more clouds (i.e. AWS, Azure, or GCP) 
  • 5 Years of Experience with Git SCM providers such as GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket 
  • 5 Years of Experience with one or more programming or scripting languages 
  • 5 Years of application DevSecOps Experience with actual/active development experience in an Agile environment 
  • 3 Years of Experience implementing docker containers and utilizing platforms such as Kubernetes 
  • 5 Years of Experience implementing infrastructure as code and orchestration 
  • 5 Years of Experience building CI/CD pipelines with tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Pipelines, CircleCI, TravisCI 
  • 5 Years of Experience integrating deployments with industry standard DevSecOps tooling and orchestration 
  • Experience integrating test automation including performance, security, and functional tests into CI/CD Pipelines  
  • Experience with automation tools, including Pivotal, Chef, Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible 
 

Qualifications

Required

Preferred

  • MS Degree 

  • Certifications: 

    • AWS Certified DevOps Engineer 

    • AWS Certified Solution Architect Professional 

    • Microsoft Certified DevOps Engineer Expert 

    • SAFe DevOps Certification 

  • Experience implementing Automated Testing frameworks including Selenium 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and collaborative skills 

  • Experience with documenting an as-is state of the environment, perform a gap analysis, and produce artifacts that articulate options and recommendations preferred 

About steampunk

Steampunk relies on several factors to determine salary, including but not limited to geographic location, contractual requirements, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience. The projected compensation range for this position is $150,000 to $185,000.  The estimate displayed represents a typical annual salary range for this position.
