Overview

Steampunk is seeking a Process Administrator to join our Personnel Security team in our Tysons Corner, Virginia office, reporting to the Facility Security Officer (FSO). This role will work alongside various internal teams and government counterparts, managing and administering the security processing of candidates and employees as efficiently as possible for their performance on federal contracts. 

 

The ability and desire to develop and maintain successful working relationships with Steampunk employees, government customers, and their personnel security offices is a critical component for success in this position.   This is a position of trust requiring handling and appropriate safeguarding of confidential, private and personally identifiable information.

Contributions

Contributions may include:

  • Prepare, review and submit candidate paperwork to federal agencies;
  • Track and follow-up with candidates to ensure timely processing of paperwork;
  • Act as the primary point of contact for candidates and employees for day-to-day questions and issues that arise related to their security onboarding;
  • Assess pre-employment background checks;
  • Conduct pre-employment security screening interviews;
  • Coordinate fingerprint appointments for employees and candidates;
  • Secure and maintain personnel security records;
  • Develop written process documents for security functions;
  • Support compliance with security requirements and implementation of new security requirements in accordance with the NISPOM;
  • Assist in conducting security education and training programs; and
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with employees and candidates as well as government counterparts to facilitate security processing.

Qualifications

Qualifications

The successful candidate must be a U.S. citizen and be eligible to obtain a Top Secret security clearance from the DoD. The candidate must be capable of coordinating security activities and ensuring compliance with government and company security processes, policies, and procedures.

  • Bachelor’s degree or a High School diploma with relevant experience;
  • Past experience in the office management or executive administrator/ assistant field;

  • Able to manage and prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines;
  • A clear and efficient communicator;
  • A self-starter with ability to work independently;
  • Customer service oriented;
  • Committed to security - creating and delivering the highest value to internal and external customers;
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite – specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;
  • Willing and able to work in the Washington DC metropolitan area during core business hours at least 4 days per week.
  • Must be willing to travel and work in Tysons, VA
