Overview

As a Steampunk Integration Developer, you will design, develop, evaluate, and modify system interfaces and integrations, specifically MuleSoft APIs for Salesforce applications. You will participate in the testing process through test execution, test script development, test review, and analysis. You should have experience integrating Salesforce with a variety of cloud and on-premise systems, including SQL databases, document storage solutions, and APIs. You will follow coding standards and participate in code reviews during projects to ensure appropriate design patterns are followed.

Contributions

  • Design, develop, test, document, and deploy high-quality integrations built on ESBs and ETL tools based on industry best practices as well as business needs.
  • Manage the process of implementing improvements and new integrations.
  • Deliver support and solutions for break/fix issues.
  • Communicate and collaborate with other technical resources and stakeholders regarding status, technical issues, and creative solutions.
  • Handle numerous priorities using proven project management methodologies and sound development practices to ensure the quality delivery of enterprise solutions.
  • Interface with business analysts and technical staff and be responsible for delivering complete work products.
  • Research integration issues and work closely with team members on operations and development staff.
  • Perform maintenance and troubleshooting of applications.
  • Build client trust and respect, establish client relationships, and develop rapport with client.
  • Participate and engage in all team meetings.
  • Document best practices and operational procedures.

 

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field and at least 8 years of total experience or equivalent education and experience.
  • 5+ years of experience as an Integration Developer.
  • 3+ years of hands-on-experience with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform (including Design Center, Exchange, API Manager, and Runtime Manager).
  • Strong integration experience with Salesforce (using MuleSoft Connectors, VM Listeners, Salesforce APIs) and other external systems including data management and document management platforms (using REST, SOAP, JDBC connector).
  • Proven expertise in building and managing APIs using API-Led Connectivity approach and RAML specification in Anypoint Studio or Visual Studio Code.
  • Experience and solid understanding of Mule 4 runtime engine and DataWeave transformations.
  • Proficient in CI/CD pipeline setup, GIT or Bitbucket-based version control, and deploying to CloudHub, Hybrid, and On-Prem environments.
  • Experience processing and transforming various data formats (including XML, JSON, CSV, PDFs and flat files) using DataWeave and MuleSoft Connectors.
  • Experience implementing reliable message handling for both synchronous and asynchronous flows, including processing Salesforce platform events, Change Data Capture (CDC), and real-time API requests using MuleSoft.
  • Experience creating and maintaining comprehensive technical documentation, including API specification (RAML), integration design documents, development guides, and API deployment support runbooks.
  • Experience designing and optimizing Mule flows for processing large payloads and documents, applying streaming strategies, memory management, and performance tuning techniques to ensure scalability and reliability.
  • Proficient in implementing API security best practices including client ID enforcement, OAuth 2.0, JWT, IP Whitelisting, Rate limiting, and policies via Anypoint API Manager to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance.
  • Proficient in maintaining API versioning and lifecycle governance using Anypoint Exchange and API Manager, ensuring proper sharing, reuse, and visibility across teams and environments.
  • Experience in a Scrum/Agile SDLC Environment.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, as well as excellent communication skills, verbal and written to both technical and non-technical audiences that are in a geographically dispersed environment (conference calls, Teams, face-to-face).

  • Demonstrates self-motivation and the ability to grasp concepts quickly.
  • Demonstrates sharp, analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills.

Steampunk relies on several factors to determine salary, including but not limited to geographic location, contractual requirements, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience. The projected compensation range for this position is $100,000 to $160,000.  The estimate displayed represents a typical annual salary range for this position.
