Overview

The Director of Engineering at Steampunk will provide strategic leadership, oversight, and technical excellence across multiple large-scale Salesforce initiatives. This role blends hands-on Salesforce architecture expertise with strategic management, fostering innovation and ensuring alignment with enterprise best practices. 

Contributions

Responsibilities: 

  • Provide strategic oversight and management for multiple large-scale Salesforce projects. 
  • Collaborate with executive and senior client leadership to shape strategic direction, ensuring alignment of Salesforce solutions with organizational objectives. 
  • Establish and enforce corporate best practices, training standards, and technical oversight for Salesforce developers and technical architects. 
  • Lead and mentor technical teams, conducting code reviews, setting project and platform standards, and providing actionable feedback. 
  • Design, develop, test, and deploy innovative Salesforce solutions utilizing Salesforce best practices, balancing client-specific requirements. 
  • Promote continuous learning and improvement by leading internal release briefings, contributing to technology reviews, and developing reusable asset libraries. 
  • Develop and execute operations and maintenance (O&M) strategies for Salesforce solutions, addressing bugs/outages, and driving enhancements from product backlogs. 
  • Collaborate with business analysts and technical developers to translate functional requirements into effective product solutions. 
  • Actively contribute to sales & BD activities including the architecture of notional solutions, authoring technical content in response to RFIs/RFPs, developing staffing needs, and levels of effort. 
  • Identify opportunities to leverage AppExchange and integrate non-native platforms to enhance Salesforce capabilities. 
  • Maintain current Salesforce credentials and proactively communicate technology trends and future needs to the Practice, leadership, and clients. 
  • Actively contribute to the Practice’s growth

Qualifications

Required: 

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 10 years of professional experience. 
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience with Salesforce platform. 
  • 3+ years of JavaScript experience. 
  • Ability to obtain and maintain government security clearance. 
  • Proficiency with Salesforce declarative tools (Flows, Lightning App Builder, Approval Processes, etc.) and Salesforce programmatic tools (Lightning Components, Apex, APIs, etc.). 
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. 
  • Proven experience working across multiple projects with high-quality delivery standards. 

 

Preferred Skills: 

  • Experience with MuleSoft, Salesforce Data Cloud, Agentforce, and CRM Analytics. 
  • Experience with modern DevSecOps tooling, including Salesforce DX (SFDX), Second-Generation Packaging (2GP), GitHub Actions, and GitLab CI/CD. 
  • Strong blend of business acumen and deep Salesforce technical knowledge. 
  • Proven ability to thrive independently in dynamic, deadline-driven environments. 
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, adept at engaging technical and non-technical stakeholders across geographically dispersed teams. 
  • Extensive experience implementing using Agile practices.

  • Salesforce Certified Technical Architect 
  • Salesforce Certified System Architect 
  • Salesforce Certified Application Architect 
  • Salesforce Certified Platform Developer I 
  • Salesforce Certified App Builder

Steampunk relies on several factors to determine salary, including but not limited to geographic location, contractual requirements, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience. The projected compensation range for this position is $200,000 to $250,000.  The estimate displayed represents a typical annual salary range for this position.
