Steampunk is seeking Senior Business Analysts who are technical, creative, hands-on experts with delivering innovative technology solutions. Ideal candidates will thrive working with clients in a consultative capacity and will have experience gathering business requirements for Federal government clients for technical teams building Salesforce systems.

Contributions

As a Senior Business Analyst you will lead the collection, capture, and management of mission user needs from prioritization, concept development, and feature writing to support development and deployment of Salesforce systems. Provide expertise in business process and system analysis, design, improvement, and implementation efforts and in translating business process needs into technical requirements. Provide expertise in change management and training support. Provide organizational and strategic planning for a wide variety of technical and functional environments. Provide expertise in, but not limited to, Configuration Management, Strategic Planning, Knowledge Management, Business Analysis and Technical Analysis.

Responsibilities include:

  • Envision, develop, and create requirements to improve tools to streamline processes to gain efficiencies and improve key metrics.
  • Must be able to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Excellent communication skills who can work with key stakeholders/customers to support planning and delivery of technical Salesforce development Agile projects.
  • Apply different techniques to facilitate meetings and workshops, create a shared understanding with stakeholders, and engage team-members to produce product and portfolio roadmaps.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and product teams to decompose large epics into features and user stories that can be understood and approved by members of the development team.
  • Facilitate Increment and planning sessions with clients and team members to ensure that planned work is well defined, planned, articulated, and understood.

  • Document Acceptance Criteria in stories in a way that both development team, testers and business stakeholders can understand and agree on the content.
  • Use excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and present findings and recommendations. 
  • Handle administrative functions in Salesforce applications including maintenance of user accounts, profiles, roles, security and data access, setting up workflows, sharing rules and permission sets.
  • Keep up-to-date on new Salesforce features and help determine if we should implement internally.
  • Assist in training rollouts to new users and grow the application knowledge.

 

Qualifications

Required:

  • Authorized to work for any U.S. employer
  • Ability to get a Federal Clearance
  • Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent years of experience
  • Certified Scrum Master certification, or equivalent
  • 6+ years functioning as a Business Analyst for teams building custom software solutions for the federal government, or Salesforce Functional/Systems/Admin experience
  • Experience using Agile methodologies and tools, such as Jira and Confluence
  • Strong critical thinking skills
  • Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical staff
  • Ability to help teams write user stories/epics, identify dependencies, and design optimal solutions
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) with strong presentation and facilitation skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, customer-centric attitude, ability to deal with cultural diversity
  • Proven team player and team builder
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills

Preferred:

  • Masters Degree, or equivalent years of experience, preferably in Information Technology and a proven background in federal government contracting and project management
  • Federal Clearance
  • Experience with Human-Centered Design (and working with Service Designers and/or UI/UX Designers)
  • Experience with Mural and/or Lucid

Steampunk relies on several factors to determine salary, including but not limited to geographic location, contractual requirements, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience. The projected compensation range for this position is $125,000 to $160,000.  The estimate displayed represents a typical annual salary range for this position.
