Steampunk is looking for an experienced Project Manager with an appetite for taking on challenges. You're going to be challenged each day with new and complex mission and delivery opportunities as you serve as the team lead for a major mission system. 

 

Ideal candidates will thrive with clients in a consultative capacity and will have experience managing teams of technical personnel to build Salesforce systems. 

Contributions

As a Project Manager, you will be the leader, driving delivery in a government client consulting environment. You will be a client manager, coach, mentor, and an accountable project manager with a proven track record of leading deployments of solutions in a federal government contracting Salesforce environment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensures team(s) maintains focus on quality and continuous delivery
  • Monitors team morale and plans/coordinates team-building activities to maintain positive team morale
  • Provides visibility into delivery targets, commitments, and progress
  • Creates Roadmaps and Milestone charts for the project
  • Understands and coaches the team on delivery controls, compliance to minimize operational, and reputational risk
  • Understands domain architecture and targets to identify upstream and downstream dependencies and to support the team in risk management
  • Proactively identifies impediments and appropriately resolves using network of peers and formal channels (including escalation if required)
  • Integrates Agile and Lean principles into team practices and work products
  • Assesses the current organization and delivery environment and recommends optimal practices tailored to the client
  • Prepares and delivers effective communications both verbally and orally regarding progress and status for both internal and client teams
  • Performs hands-on project work, including analysis, design and change management, as needed by the project

Qualifications

Required:

  • Authorized to work for any U.S. employer
  • Ability to obtain a Federal Clearance
  • Bachelors degree, or equivalent years of experience, preferably in Information Technology
  • Proven background in federal government contracting and project management
  • 7+ Years in Project Management and Information Technology
  • Proficient in Microsoft Project
  • Experience leading software development implementations in federal government contracting environments
  • Ability to establish immediate credibility with clients, build consensus, and achieve goals through influence
  • Flexibility to work with teams, individuals and executives and willingness to help with a wide variety of work products and people
  • Proven experience of leading the deployment of enterprise and custom Software solutions in client environments
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and consult while providing thought leadership to sponsors/stakeholders in solving governance, project management, business process and/or technical problems
  • Experience defining project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success metrics in collaboration with stakeholders
  • Experience developing detailed project plans, schedules, and risk management strategies
  • Experience generating executive-level reports and dashboards on project health, milestones, and financial performance
  • Experience using data-driven insights to identify areas of improvement and recommend optimizations
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) with strong presentation and facilitation skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, customer-centric attitude, ability to deal with cultural diversity
  • Proven team player and team builder
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Knowledge of government procurement processes, contracts (e.g., GSA schedules, IDIQ), and compliance standards (e.g., FAR, DFARS).
  • Experience with managing budgets, task orders, and subcontractor relationships
  • Proven experience with Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., JIRA)
  • Must have USDA experience 

Preferred: 

  • Scrum Master certification (Certified Scrum Master, or equivalent)
  • PMP Certification
  • Experience with Human-Centered Design

 

About steampunk

Steampunk relies on several factors to determine salary, including but not limited to geographic location, contractual requirements, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience. The projected compensation range for this position is $110,000 to $175,000.  The estimate displayed represents a typical annual salary range for this position.
