Steampunk wants you to be a Information System Security Officer (ISSO) on our team to support a government customer in Washington D.C. The primary responsibilities for the position are to support all activities that ensure the level of security documented with the security authorization is maintained at an acceptable level of risk. The nature of the work requires that the candidate demonstrate initiative, organization, responsibility, customer service skills, and the ability to be flexible and adaptive to a fast-paced, fluid business environment. The candidate must be able to communicate effectively and decisively with all levels of the organization and be able to solve practical problems as well as exercise sound judgement with regards to sensitive and confidential information. Proactively create, monitor and update the status of POA&Ms to ensure weaknesses are resolved in accordance to their scheduled completion dates.

Responsibilities:

• Work independently and manage cyber tasks and projects for the customer
• Manage POA&Ms and POA&M reporting
• Conduct cyber risk assessments for new and existing systems
• Conduct Security Control Assessments
• Conduct other cyber-related tasks as needed and is flexible and adaptable to changing needs and requirements
• Develop positive customer relationships by engaging with stakeholders
• Coordinate with customer and internal project resources/supervisor to communicate the status of program objectives and activities, and to proactively resolve issues and problems as they arise
• Enhance project processes and develop new processes working in close conjunction with established team leads, the client, and relevant stakeholders
• Perform weekly status reporting
• Coordinate peer reviews of project deliverables
• Perform final quality reviews of project deliverables prior to customer delivery

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree
• 8+ years of overall cybersecurity experience for Federal Customers
• Deep understanding of RMF and related NIST publications
• Strong desire to advance and grow expertise
• Advanced written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, escalate risk, and achieve measurable results
• US Citizenship and ability to obtain a Public Trust
• Hybrid role; candidate must be willing to government site in DC as needed (approx. once a month) and to Rosslyn,VA as needed; but telework is subject to change if the Government requires increased onsite support or the role changes
• CISSP, GSEC, GSNA, or other comparable certification

Steampunk relies on several factors to determine salary, including but not limited to geographic location, contractual requirements, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience. The projected compensation range for this position is $90,000 to $140,000.  The estimate displayed represents a typical annual salary range for this position.
