    As the Senior Linux Systems Engineer, you will be a strategic member of a high-powered team tasked with delivering cloud and data center-based systems to align technical solutions and security requirements to solve critical business needs.  You should have demonstrated knowledge and experience working with all aspects of operating system and network administration. You will be performing all duties of RedHat administration including installation, configuration, securing, and performance tuning, and troubleshooting while applying higher-level business and/or technical principles and methods to challenging technical problems to arrive at an engineering solution. 


    Required Qualifications:


    • Work/Education
      • Master’s Degree or higher and/or 15 years work experience

      • Strong customer service skills as well as the ability to collaborate within a cross-functional team.

      • Ability to research and resolve problems efficiently and accurately with knowledge of the cloud computing industry, including key technologies, vendors, and trends.

    • Education
      • Bachelor’s degree, or higher, in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field.
    • Experience
      • Experience with advanced IT technologies: Cloud Computing (Private, Public, and Hybrid), virtualization, software defined networking, software defined datacenters, Service-Oriented Architectures, datacenter architectures, OR web services.
      • 5 years working as in a System Administrator role
      • 5 years of experience as a Linux engineer to include tuning, upgrading, monitoring and patching
      • Migrating to RHEL systems and experience with RHEL 7/8
      • CentOS or any Enterprise Linux distribution
      • Configuration/deployment management tool (e.g. Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Salt)
      • Scripting and automation experience
      • Knowledge and experience with Version Control tools such as Git (e.g. GitHub, Stash, GitLab)
      • Azure and/or AWS experience is a huge plus
    • Certifications
      • Red Hat Certified System Engineer (RHCE) certification
      • AWS, Azure, or other cloud provides certifications
    • Other
      • Familiar with Federal policy requirements for Federal information systems and familiarity with the applicable OMB Circulars, DoD Directives, NIST SPs and FIPS standards, FISMA, C&A process.
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
