  • Overview

    Steampunk is looking for someone to join our team as the Deputy Program Manager.

    Contributions

    Serve as the PM in the absence of the PM

    Lead cross functional/cross team projects to improve the technical delivery of the program.

     

    Qualifications

     

    Required Skills and Experience

    • Bachelor’s Degree and seven (7) years’ experience managing IT programs and have demonstrable hands- on experience and/or training in areas of emerging security technologies OR
    • No degree and eleven (11) years’ experience managing IT programs and have demonstrable hands- on experience and/or training in areas of emerging security technologies OR
    • Masters degree in a related field and five (5) years’ experience managing IT programs and have demonstrable hands- on experience and/or training in areas of emerging security technologies
    • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification required.
    • Experience with information security related projects, and be knowledgeable with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Risk Management framework.

    Preferred Skills and Experience

    • Ten years' of experience supporting government IT and cyber security and at least seven years’ experience managing large, complex projects in a task order/contract environment.

       

    • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and more than fifteen years' of relevant experience, or a Master's Degree in a related field and ten years of relevant experience.

       

    • At least one security certification (e.g. CISSP, CEH, CISA).  CISSP preferred.

       

    • Experience in federal government IT.

       

    • Experience with Cyber Compliance programs.

       

    • Strong understanding of federal CISO responsibilities, and experience in multiple roles, including:

      • Information System Security Officer (ISSO)
      • Incident Responder / Network Security Analyst
      • Compliance Analyst
      • Security Architect
      • Security Engineer
      • Security Control Assessor
      • IT Auditor

       

    • Mastery of MS Office Suite (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

       

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

       

    • Program and contract management for upwards of 20 FTEs

       

    • Experience interfacing with federal Contracting officials

    • Experience with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) strongly preferred.
