  • Overview

    Steampunk is looking for you to be our Microsoft Power BI Developer in support of a federal client in the Washington DC area. 

    Contributions

    Job Overview:
    • Design and create complex reports and dashboards using Microsoft PowerBI
    • Support and maintain PowerBI environment, optimize performance of various MS BI objects
    • Design integrations as required for extracting data for reporting purposes
    • Meet with business stakeholders to clarify and document BI requirements

    Qualifications

    Requirements:
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent IT degree
    • 10 years of IT experience (including 3 years of PowerBI experience)
    • Hands-on experience in Power BI-
    o Data set ingestion and transformation
    o Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) language for formula creation report development using the most appropriate report templates for a given data set
    o Creation of dashboards and data models
    • Experience in creation of APIs
    • Experience in creation, publication, and management of content packs
    • Understanding of security as it pertains to data access, scope, and distribution of reports and dashboards
    • Experience working with a variety of stakeholders, from managers to technical resources, to include the translation of business requirements into operational measures and reports
    • US Citizenship

    Nice to Haves:
    • Data modeling experience
    • Agile/Scrum project experience
    • ETL, SSAS, and SSIS experience
    • SSRS Reporting knowledge
